A bank of bins for the Lower Jimenbuen Road, Little Paupong and Matong Road residents Snowy River Shire Council is set to install a Bank of Bins (BOB) for the Numbla Vale and Jimenbuen communities, a move it hopes will ease residents’ travel burdens associated with rural waste and recycling disposal. The service, which will be trialled and reviewed after 6 months, will be implemented in July 2012 for the residents of the lower Jimenbuen Road, Little Paupong Road and Matong Road areas.A lockable BOB structure will be placed at the end of the sealed section of Jimenbuen Road (Resolution number 073/12) and will be accessible only to those residents who apply to use the service. Upon application, residents will receive a key to use the bins and the appropriate charge will be levied onto their annual rates notice. Application forms can be downloaded from Council’s website, or can be picked up from the Jindabyne or Berridale Offices. Residents who do not wish to utilise the BOB will still be able to transport their waste and recycling to either Jindabyne, Adaminaby or Cooma Landfills or the Berridale Transfer Station. The Berridale Transfer Station will continue to accept domestic waste and recycling, with appropriate landfilling charges payable at the gate.During the trial period, Council will review the use and effectiveness of the service within the Numblavale and Jimenbuen communities and consider its future viability.Residents should be aware that any misuse or abuse of the service or bins could result in termination of the service. For more information, contact Council on 6451 1195
