Council offers a variety of

community based services

to eligible aged people, people with a disability and their carers. These services include:

Costs of Services

 

Some of these services are only available to residents of Snowy River shire while other services may also be provided to residents of Cooma-Monaro and Bombala shires. All services are subject to eligibility and assessment processes.

Council's community services department also offers extensive

carer support and respite services

These programs are provided to people who are carers of a person who is frail aged, a younger person with a disability or a person with a chronic illness. A carer may be a family member, a friend or neighbour who provided regular sustained care and assistance to the care recipient.

Respite is considered to be a break from the responsibility of the caring role and may be provided on a group or individual basis.

These programs receive funding from the state and federal governments and are auspiced by Snowy River Shire Council.
