Older people in Snowy River shire have access to a range of activities and services, both community based and residential.
These services were the subject of an external review conducted in early 2008 by Wallace McKinnon and Associates. A copy of the report, Review of Aged Care Services may be viewed here.
For the more active older person there are opportunities to volunteer and to be involved in community activities. The Snowy Mountains Neighbourhood Centre can provide information about these opportunities or you can contact council community services section.
For people needing assistance in daily living we have a range of home support services and centre based activities. You may find more information about these services by following this link.
Community Transport may also be available to assist eligible people
People who are finding it difficult to cope at home and are thinking about residential care may be interested in the Snowy River Hostel at Berridale.
