One of the principal activity areas in Council is the Engineering and Operations Department which is responsible for the effective delivery of the following services:

• Air transport facilities
• Plant
• Property (operational)
• Parks
• Pools
• Roads services
• Emergency services
• Water supply
• Waste water
• Waste

The department has been divided into a number of sections as follows:

• Road Services - Alex Aitkenhead (Manager)
• Parks and Recreation Manager - Vacant
• Water and Waste - Gnai Ahamat (Manager)
• Assets - Lorraine Thomas (Manager)
